The Asian Endoscopy Research Forum (AERF) was established in 2017 by GI endoscopists from the Asia-Pacific region. These were members from the Asian EUS Group (AEG) and the Asian Novel Bio-imagining and Intervention Group (ANBIIG). With more than 110 members in 21 countries, AEG & ANBIIG were formed to promote professional training in the sub-specialty of GI endoscopy.

Members of the two not-for-profit groups created a platform for leading GI endoscopists in the region to discuss, initiate and execute clinical studies. Through clinical research, the forum aims to provide new evidence to clinical practice, publish quality studies in peer-reviewed journals and ultimately contribute to advancing care and benefits to patients.

The key objectives of AERF are to support aspiring young academic clinicians through the provision of expertise in clinical research and mini-grants. With these resources, AERF hopes to help them in pushing existing boundaries and leading at the forefront of medical research in this region. AERF also provides a platform for multicenter, multi-international clinical studies.

Our activities include an annual meeting to discuss research ideas and to present data from ongoing clinical studies. The forum fosters multi-center collaborations and allows efficient execution of large-scale clinical trials in the domains of patient-care, education and training and medical innovations.
